Spicak and Les du Alps crankworx

Spicak IXS cup was after Val di sole. Traveling to Czech republic which was just across the border of Germany, was probably one of the strangest places I have ever been, pretty dull not to much happening in the little town. They had lots of police patrolling the pits as last year bikes and bits got stolen by le dodgy fellas. Good thing about Czech is everything is so cheap, so eating out was cheaper than ever %%%%$$$

The Spicak track was rocky and had some pretty akward corners nearing the top, but getting into the lower part it got bit more flowy. In Qualifying, it started throwing down with liquid from the clouds up above, very hard. Slippery rocks were on my mind. Everyday it rained about that time, and knowing that race was earlier the next day I didn't want to crash and get injured so I took it smooth and easy, coming down into 9th place. The next day the sun was shining and by race run the track was dry once again. My run went smoothly for the awkward track and ended up in 7th place behind other kiwi riding Alanna Coulmb , also taking home a bit of cash money swell. chhhehoo. $$ dolla doll bills up in here.

Once Spizack was over our convoy headed to Morzine in france. Morzine is a good place to base yourself if you are traveling round europe doing the races, as it it pretty centralized and has many of chairlifts that can take you all the way over to Switzerland.

Crankworkx Europe in Les du Alps was the following week, with the "Air downhill" practice beginning on the Monday. Les Du Alps is such an awesome place, up high in the french alps, with a cute little town with lots of snow homies. There is a ski field up further than the riding tracks, so town is always going off.

The track in Les du Alps was pretty crazy, claimed a few people including one of our kiwi boys Reece Potter, who's ended up in two arm casts, poor wee fella. The helicopter seemed to always be dropping in to pick up people. The track was fast with some big senders. Once you got your speed up it wasn't easy to stop. I took some scary crashes which made me be a bit more cautious in parts. On the first day of practice my Derailur hanger decided to blow out on me, with the thread being stripped out, with no one in les du alps having a spare laiperre hanger we had to do some DIY coke can and zip tie job to keep her on.  Everyday at around 2 the rain clouds would come over the mountains and just drop a massive load on us. Our qualifying on the tuesday was around this time, but thunder and lighting stopped the chairlifts so we didn't have to do qualifying..thankfully. They decided to move race a couple hours earlier the next day because of this so we got it out of the way by around 12. In my run I got wild and clipped a rock with one of my pedals and thought it snapped off,but it didn't. I came down and ended up 5th place.

Bombing on the scooter up the golf course to get to the Whip off jump with Veronique Sandler hanging off the back #yolo. naiice.

Next race is the 4th round of the World cups in Andorra next weekend. My lovely mother is venturing over before her international competition of miniature horse polo. I wish her all the best in her activities.
